The Daytime Stress tool will first be released to subscribing members on October 10, 2023 to help you identify what causes stress and when. The app updates every 15 minutes and displays a graph of your stress levels (Recovery, Relaxation, Focus, Stress) throughout the day. I don’t know about you, but I feel pressure to close the Apple Watch ring on my Apple Watch Series 7 every day. I can’t help but feel the gentle stimulation that wearables give me. When toggled on, activity scores and goals (and all contributors associated with them) are paused. Readiness scores and sleep insights focus on recovery metrics instead. Best of all, when you toggle Rest Mode off again, your score will gradually return to normal instead of being punched in the face with data. The Explore tab in the Oura Ring app is one of my go-to features when I’m feeling stressed or need a break, and it’s a great way to add bite-sized breathing exercises to your day. Designed for everyone, choose between nighttime sessions to help you sleep or invigorating sessions to boost your mood. Each session can be anywhere from a few minutes to 30 minutes, and there are also categories such as ‘wake up’, ‘reset’, ‘relax’, ‘focus’ and ‘relax’.
If you’re new to meditation or just don’t really like it, you can access guided meditations. Also, the Stories section allows users to relax and have a more peaceful time with soundscapes and stories. One of my favorite meditations of his is from Headspace and is called “Managing Anxious Moments,” which was personally recommended by the app when I switched to rest mode. It takes just 7 minutes.
A growing body of research shows that meditation can reduce anxiety, boost mood, and improve sleep.
