Garmin has released new software updates for many older smartwatches. Rolling out as beta version 26.85, this update introduces new bug fixes for Fenix 6 and Fenix 6 Pro models, Enduro, Tactix Delta, Quatix 6, and Marq smartwatches.

Garmin has pushed a new beta update for the Fenix 6 series. This is also available for Enduro, Tactix Delta, Quatix 6, and Marq smartwatches. To recap, Garmin rolled out various stable updates to the Fenix 7 and recent Forerunner models earlier this month. The Fenix 6 and its peers didn’t have comparable stable updates, but the lack of beta builds means Garmin has ended his v26.xx development cycle.

Surprisingly, the company announced beta version 26.85, an update that replaces the six-week old beta version 26.82. Nevertheless, beta version 26.85 only includes the following five bug fixes:

  • Fixed an issue to ensure training loads were calculated properly when using the Store & Forward feature with supported Garmin HRM straps.
  • Fixed an issue where the device could sometimes shut down when viewing the map in Fish Activity.
  • Fixed an issue where workout voice prompts were not playing the correct message.
  • Fixed an issue where automatic execution of ski activities would not always start on descent.
  • Fixed an issue where auto-pause for ski activities would be activated inappropriately.

For some reason, Garmin is not offering beta version 25.85 as an over-the-air (OTA) update. Instead, new updates must be installed manually. Download links can be found in Garmin’s forum post. Unfortunately, Garmin has not confirmed when it will share a new stable update for the Fenix 6 series. Instead, beta version 25.85 was confirmed to have 19 changes since v26.00, the last stable update in the series.

  • Added backup and restore of device settings.
  • Added manual SW update using Wi-Fi to settings menu (Pro models only).
  • Added CIQ app ratings to all CIQ types (no longer restricted to just “app”).
  • Improved randomness quality of music shuffle (Pro model only).
  • Fixed an issue where the alarm sound would not work if the activity was set to max battery.
  • We fixed an issue where some Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, and Greek text was not displaying correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where indoor bike activity was the first set of default data fields.
  • Fixed a potential issue where the “Safety Feature Enabled” notification would appear continuously.

  • Added ski split tracking.
