High Point – Universal continues to add products to its custom assortment, and this time it’s beds.
Manufactured at our Conover, North Carolina, facility, our custom bed program offers 12 bed styles in over 400 in-stock fabrics and over 50 types of leather. Delivery time for these beds for interior designers and retailers is 6 to 8 weeks.
Bed styles and custom fabrics are also available now. “Our excellent lead times mean you can order your bed now and have it shipped by Valentine’s Day,” said Neil McKenzie, Universal Furniture’s senior vice president of marketing.
Each bed style comes in a variety of sizes, from twins to California kings. Other customizations include his seven finish choices for the legs and three nail head options. Fabrics include velvet, linen, cotton and performance fabrics, available in a variety of colors and patterns.
Some of the choices highlighted within the program are:
- The Panache bed features an upholstered button-tufted frame framed by an incredibly graceful nailhead trim.
- The Sagamore Hill Bed features an arched, curved headboard that creates a striking silhouette against your bedroom wall.

Blythe Bed, Universal Furniture The Brando Bed features an oversized button-tufted headboard upholstered in your choice of fabric. There is also an attached “wing”.
- The Halston bed features a winged button tufted frame and is finished with a nailhead trim.
- Blythe beds feature a combination of straight and curved edges, a fully draped fabric frame and tapered legs.
- A fully upholstered suntan bed with a simple, modern silhouette and narrow wings.
