LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Christmas came early for two Las Vegas families in need.

On Thursday, Walker Furniture gave away sofas, tables, beds and more to families.

“I’m excited. I’m happy,” an emotional Crystal Zuniga said Thursday morning.

Zuniga and her husband gained temporary custody of her sister’s four children during the pandemic and have been raising them as their own while her sister battles drug problems.

Her husband is also the main provider.

“To give this to all the kids, you know, life is hard, but it’s just a blessing that they’re together and that they have so many people to help them,” Zuniga said. Told. “It makes me happy to see their smiles, and I know they are happy too given all of this.”

She was designated by the field coordinator at her child’s school to receive a gift from the furniture store.

“There are good people in the world. I’m grateful to Michael because she’s been so supportive of the kids. None of this would have been possible without her help.” said Zuniga.

On Thursday afternoon, Walker Furniture was also able to bring smiles to Esperanza Balza and her family.

“We are really blessed and surprised. We thought something like this couldn’t happen to us,” Barça said.

Metro staff assigned her to furnish her home after her autistic son escaped.

Metro said he saw some of the challenges her family was facing and wanted to help her.

From person to person, it’s the little things we can do to make someone’s life a little bit easier,” said Officer Colton Sampson.

Families were also given a Christmas tree, lights, decorations, and presents for the children to open on Christmas Day.

Walker Furniture said it will continue to give away furniture to people throughout the year.
