Stolen BHUSD laptop recovered from LA store: LAPD

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Police say more than 200 laptops and other electronic devices recently discovered at a retail store are likely stolen property, including one computer belonging to the Beverly Hills Unified School District. announced that it was included.

Los Angeles police executed a search warrant in front of a store in the 2000 block of West 6th Street on Dec. 13 and arrested a woman suspected of receiving stolen property “in connection with a retail theft,” Los Angeles police said. This was announced in a statement on Monday.

Detectives believe many, if not all, of the hundreds of items found in the store were robbed in the Los Angeles area, police said.

Items recovered included $45,000 worth of camera equipment and part of a MacBook stolen from a vehicle parked in Echo Park in November. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, police discovered the camera contained footage of a local news reporter and tracked down its owner.

Other items seen in stores include:

  • Laptops belonging to BHUSD
  • 8 laptops belonging to the Los Angeles Unified School District
  • Laptop in the Los Angeles Public Library collection
