M&D’s luxury headphones MW75 are equipped with brain sensing technology

Newable/Master & Dynamic

Neurable, a brain-computer interface (BCI) company, has long touted its ability to allow people to control everything from video games to robots using just their minds. The company has released wild images of prototypes in the past. They’re like a combination of VR goggles and a Matrix-like implant.

But today, the company is taking a decidedly toned-down approach, announcing a new partnership with luxury headphone maker Master & Dynamic (M&D), finally bringing its technology to market, albeit with some limitations. I will be investing it.

From the first quarter of 2024, M&D will sell a new version of the MW75 wireless headphones, known as MW75-Neuro. There are few details available at this time, one of which is the price. The regular version of the MW75 sells for a hefty $599, so expect the price of the MW75-Neuro to be significantly higher.

According to Neurable, the MW75-Neuro is seamlessly integrated with neural sensors that measure your brain waves, helping you identify focus periods, recognize subtle signs of stress, and discover your optimal mental health. While this is a far cry from being able to control real or virtual objects with your mind, Neurable says, “These new features are just the beginning, and we already have some interesting features in store for future products.” It promises to be developed.

Oddly enough, Neurable promotes its line of brain-sensing headphones through crowdfunding projects on Indiegogo and its own website. The pitch for the Neurable Enten looks very similar to the MW75-Neuro. “See when and where you are most focused to optimize your day and avoid burnout.” It’s also interesting that the latest photo labeled “Prototype” is clearly an M&D MW75.

Backers of the project who have been waiting since June 2021 have not yet received their Enten headphones. Project schedules suggest that shipments of finished products will not begin until March 2024. In other words, your first chance to experience Neurable’s brain-sensing technology could be with the MW75-Neuro rather than with Enten.

In a note to backers, Neurable says there will be an opportunity to demo its technology at CES 2024, but it doesn’t indicate whether that technology is Neurable Enten or M&D MW75-Neuro.
