In an effort to preserve the longevity of the hardware, a new update for Google’s Pixel smartphones introduces a repair mode.
According to the company, Repair Mode allows users to keep the data on their mobile device under lock and key, giving them peace of mind whenever they send their smartphone in for repair. Prevent others from seeing your photos, messages, and contacts. If this sounds familiar, some Galaxy smartphones also have a repair mode that works as well.
Google doesn’t explain how to enable Repair Mode in its announcement, but Tom’s Guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to use the feature. first,[システム]tab’s[設定]It’s on the menu.
During activation, you will be required to enter a screen unlock method, such as a PIN. Once entered, your phone will immediately restart in repair mode. The Pixel interface will display a notification that you are currently in repair mode, and you can exit repair mode at any time. There are a few things to keep in mind when turning on repair mode. Customized colors will be reset to default and only available to a few apps. These updated pages show how to find spare parts, order from the company’s service partner iFixit, and provide access to repair manuals. This document is available in English and French and has been rewritten for easier understanding. However, they are limited to a few models.
English manual applies only to Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Fold. Meanwhile, the French manual will cover his Pixel 7 line, which includes the base models, his Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7a. Google plans to upload documentation “for previous and future devices in the coming months,” but hasn’t said when.
So we reached out to the company to learn more about other manual releases and the availability of repair modes.
