Dell Concept Luna 2023 aims to further improve modularity, with laptops with serviceable displays coming in 2024

Dell first spoke about Concept Luna in 2021, with a renewed focus on sustainability. The following year, the company incorporated telemetry and automation aspects into the concept. Now, Dell is further enhancing his Concept Luna with a focus on modular design, emissions reduction, AI-powered telemetry, and product recycling.

This year’s Concept Luna continues to build on the original by introducing what Dell calls a “circular design” that embraces modularity. Dell says next year’s laptops will use less adhesive and screws and will have repairable display panels. It’s not yet clear which and how many serviceable displays will be included in Dell’s 2024 product lineup.

Dell also aims to use recycled iron and aluminum, and recycled cobalt in its batteries in 2024 to reduce emissions.

Complementing these is the use of advanced telemetry, AI, and more transparent ways to inform users of component life through built-in diagnostics. Dell said it will also make it easier for customers to return and recycle used devices.
